Event Preview
The Charles Schwab Challenge is the latest event on the PGA Tour, with a high-class field competing over 7,209 at the par 70 Colonial Country Club in Texas. A huge prize fund of $9.5 million will be up for grabs this weekend in the stroke play event, which was first staged in 1946. Zach Johnson currently holds the record scores in the event, finishing 21-under when landing victory in 2010.
There is no surprise to see Scottie Scheffler listed as the red-hot favorite this weekend. The American was at his clinical best at the PGA Championship last weekend, and his course record in Texas is staggering. Scheffler has finished in the top three on his last three appearances since 2022.

However, winning in back-to-back weeks is no easy feat on the PGA Tour, and there could be a lot of value if you’re prepared to take on Scheffler. Daniel Berger is one of the previous course winners in the field this week, and he has finished in the top 25 on nine starts this season.
Jordan Spieth made an impression on his first appearance in the Charles Schwab Challenge in 2013, and he hasn’t missed an event since. He is the all-time leader in of prize money in the event, and has finished second on three occasions across his eight top ten finishes at Colonial Country Club.
Charles Schwab Challenge Picks
Davis Riley could be an interesting contender at a bigger price this weekend. The American has bounced back to form over the last 12 months, which included a win at Colonial Country Club last year.
He has finished in the top ten in three of his last nine starts, and he was extremely eye-catching when achieving his best ever major finish at the PGA Championship last time out.

- Davis Riley
