Preview

Kansas State impressed last week, defeating Baylor 59-25. The Wildcats have one of the best résumés of the 3-loss teams. All of their losses came on the road by 1 score, to #7 Texas, #9 Missouri, and #23 OSU. Meanwhile, their last three wins have come by a combined score of 141-28. The Wildcats have the chance to add another solid win to their résumé against Kansas. Their defense needs to bounce back this week.

Kansas had a disappointing game last week, losing to Texas Tech at home. It was both the Jayhawks first loss at home, and their first loss against an unranked team. Miraculously, they remained in the Top-25 rankings, but have no margin for error this week. Kansas won’t be in the Big-12 title game, but a rivalry win over the Wildcats would certainly help aid the sting of last week’s loss. The offense needs to heat up here.

Prediction

This game should be an interesting rivalry matchup between two 7-3 Big-12 teams. The winner here will wind up in a better bowl game, as well as retain bragging rights. The key matchup will be Kansas State’s struggling defense against the struggling offense of the Jayhawks. I think they’ll heat back up offensively and keep the game close, but I ultimately see the Wildcats outscoring them and coming away with the win.
