Oklahoma State improved to 4-2 last week after defeating Kansas. They’ve now won two straight games and gained a good amount of momentum back. They have the chance to get to within one game of bowl eligibility if they beat West Virginia this week, but will face a tough task on the road. QB Alan Bowman completed 28 of 41 es for 336 yards and 2 TDs, while Ollie Gordon II rushed for 168 yards and a TD.
West Virginia dropped to 4-2 last week following a close loss to Houston. The Mountaineers have exceeded expectations this season after being picked to finish last in the Big-12’s preseason poll. They’ll have the chance to keep proving themselves against an Oklahoma State team with an identical record. Their defense struggled against Houston, allowing 41 points, and will need to take a big step forward here.
Prediction
Both of these teams have improved this season after struggling last year, and are closing in on bowl eligibility. While a loss wouldn’t be detrimental to their hopes, a win would be massively beneficial. I see these two teams matching up pretty evenly, so I’m leaning towards taking the home team here. As long as West Virginia bounces back on defense, they should be able to get the win this week and improve to 5-2.
