Event Preview

The Western Conference finals continue on Tuesday, as game four in the series is set for Rogers Place. The Edmonton Oilers will have the home ice advantage, and a victory for the hosts would see them move to within a victory of securing their spot in the Stanley Cup finals for the second year running.

Aside from a poor final period in the opening game between the teams, the Oilers have been the dominant force in this series. They once again showcase their dominance in game three at Rogers Place on Sunday evening, scoring six goals in an excellent attacking performance.

Not for the first time this season, Connor McDavid was the man for the big occasion for the Oilers. Their star player scored twice in the 6-1 win. The Oilers made their dominance count in a dominant final period, netting three unanswered goals as the Stars chased a change in their fortunes.

However, their chances already appeared slim at that stage of the game after conceding three across the opening two periods. Zach Hyman also showcased his ability for the Oilers in the win over the weekend, ending the night with two goals and an assist.

The Stars will need to put that disappointing performance behind them quickly, as there is no time to lick their wounds. Dallas’s only bright moment in the humbling defeat on the road was a goal scored by Jason Robertson, but improvements will need to be made at both ends of the ice if they are to threaten a comeback.

Oilers vs. Stars Game 4 Picks

Edmonton holds all the cards as we come into the fourth game in this series. A victory could put them on course for a Stanley Cup rematch with the Florida Panthers, and based on their performances already in this series, it is hard to overlook the prospect of another dominant home win.
