Event Preview
For the first time, the FIFA Club World Cup will be staged at the end of the European season in an expanded 32-team format. The competition hasn’t been immune from criticism, with some feeling that the expansion was unnecessary and could be damaging in of the increased workload of players.
But, for some, it is an exciting opportunity to watch some of the best club sides from across the planet. American interest will largely focus on Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, who could face a daunting prospect in Group A against FC Porto and Brazilian club Palmeiras.

From a betting perspective, it appears challenging to overlook the European clubs. This summer will present a first opportunity to watch Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid, with the club expected to field Trent Alexander-Arnold for the first time in the famous white shirt of Los Blancos.
However, they could be opposable if they win Group H, as a huge showdown with PSG could await in the quarterfinals. For the same reason, the recently crowned European champions may also be easy to overlook at the prices.
Man City endured a season to forget in 2024-25, but Pep Guardiola’s side will be back at full strength for this summer’s competition. If City win Group G, then they will find themselves on the relatively easier side of the draw, with only potential showdowns against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan standing between themselves and a final showdown with Real or PSG.
FIFA Club World Cup Outright Winner Pick
Bayern Munich could be the value play in the outright betting. The free-scoring German champions will face few challenges in navigating Group C against weaker opposition, and they could potentially face Atletico Madrid and Man City on their way to the final.
