A winner-take-all showdown is set for the City Ground on the final day of the 2024-25 Premier League season. Chelsea currently holds the advantage, and a point in the East Midlands could yet be enough to secure their place in next season’s Champions League. However, Nottingham Forest require a win to stand any chance of a top-five finish.

Chelsea come into the final weekend after winning four of their last five Premier League matches. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have gone three without a defeat, but their only victory over that period was recorded on the road against West Ham last Sunday.

Forest have a miserable recent record against Chelsea in the Premier League, as they have won just one of the last seven meetings between the sides. However, it could be worth noting that three matches between the teams over that period have ended in draws.

Chelsea recorded a 3-2 win at the City Ground last season, but they haven’t recorded consecutive league away wins against the Tricky Trees since December 1922.

Forest have already won 19 Premier League matches this season, which is as many as the previous two seasons combined. It could aid the chances of the home team based on the fact that Chelsea have failed to win their last three matches on the final day of the season when playing away from Stamford Bridge.
