Event Preview
With every ing Grand Slam event, the attention and pressure on American superstar Coco Gauff increases. The 21-year-old has already looked at home on the clay surface this year, reaching the final at the Italian Open before being beaten in straight sets by Italian Jasmine Paolini.
However, the prep tournament leaves her in a strong position to play at a high level at Roland Garros once again in 2025. Gauff broke her Grand Slam hoodoo on home soil in 2023, but she is yet to add a second title, falling in two semi-finals last year. But she certainly excels on the clay, evident after reaching the final four in 2024, and the French Open final in 2022.
